I would start with a WD-40 myself, spay and let it soak. Grease cut's grease and doesn't evaporate. After 30 minutes, slight scrub and repeat.
Once clean then use the CRC.
If your r/r lives where it can get soaked by rainwater, grease, and dirt....... it's designed to be weather proof. If you ever crack one open, they are a solid mass of epoxy with parts stuck in it.
Try and avoid the seals at the plugs..... other than that, have at it.
welp the CRC QD electronic cleaner worked well with a little help from the WD 40 and a tooth brush and a few q tips..After cleaning i wiped it off with a wet rag...
