Hello, I just bought a buddies 2007 zx6r. Black and grey and beautiful! I will post pics when I get some. I am a new rider, well, soon to be rider. I bought the bike, now to get the gear, then off to take Basic Rider Class. Anything that anyone can suggest for a first timer is great. And also, whats a good basic toolkit or the kinds of tools I should get? I am going to want to teach myself how to work on this bike as well.

Welcome!
The tool kit depends on how you're gonna carry it (i.e. tank bag, under pass. seat, back pack) and how prepared you want to be.
The basic on bikes is fairly easy, how much mechanical experience you have?

My mechanical experience on bike is zero. But I'm good at figuring things out like that by myself. And for the type of toolkit, what are some good tools to keep underseat? Also what are some tools I should have for general maintenance at home? I have some decent photos of my bike, not the best quality that's for sure, how do I upload them?

As for as home, it depends how much maintenance you're willing to do your self.

Well since I bought the bike from a friend of a friend, I'm not to sure if it has the kit that comes with it. For maintenance at home I'm talking, oil changes, lights, light case/covers, ferring removal. Nothing too serious for now. Where can I get a swingarm stand at a decent price?

As for the stands, there are many places you can buy them online, but they're pretty bulky so shipping might be expensive, try looking for some at your local bike shop like cyclegear or something.

Local bike shop sounds like the smarter way to go with the stands. And thanks btw.

Welcome to the forum. That's a great bike you have , I know cos i have one too . one thing you'll have to get into the habit of doing is cleaning & oiling your chain. If your buddy sold your the bike then i'd get him to hand over the underseat tool kit if it's missing, it has all you need for quick checks on the bike.
keep reading the posts on the forum and i'm sure you'll catch up fast on what's on and what's not.
Ride safe always. I'd say leather gloves are a must. all always ride with full gear. your brain is the most important safety device you have, educate and engage your brain, and you are better able to handle what comes at you!

Welcome! Nice bike! Glad to hear you're spending the time and money on both gear and a riding course. Both are worth every penny and can save your life! Ride safe
