Hey Riders,
I'm a recently new (recently recovered) zx6r rider. I bought my blacked out 2009 zx6r in the beginning of last summer (with all the money I had saved) with only about 2000 miles on it. The thing was in pristine condition. After a few months of solid riding and with school coming up, I was itching to get some last rides in before it was back to work at Champlain College in Burlington. Oops. Dumped it going around a sandy corner and ended up popping it up when I tried to save it. Watched the thing tumble under the overpass and hopped over to it on my good leg. The other was shattered. Turned my foot all the way around and am still in recovery. I'm dying to ride! If I could have moved my foot enough to shift, I'd be damned if I wouldn't have been riding a week after I crashed . Anyway, I'm looking to fix her back up for the upcoming season but it's gonna be tough to come up with the cash - definitely not going for new OEM parts. Now that my body is healing up, I figure it's time to try to get back to work on fixing my baby. Looks like she needs new handlebars, front brake and master cylinder, rear brake (only the peg snapped), all new plastics, new tail kit, possibly a subframe, headlights, front rotors? etc...I still need to have someone take a look at it to tell me how bad it is but I've been looking at these threads (the crashed my bike thread in particular) and although it brings back some memories, I'm dying to get back on it. I'll post pics of the damage soon. Proud owner of a not-so-proud-looking zx6r . I didn't grow up around bikes, so I'm glad to see a lot of experience and know-how from the guys on here. Any and all help / advice is appreciated and I'm stoked to get back at it!

Welcome! Good to hear you're getting back on it.
And I feel your pain; paying ~$2,000 for my bike in repairs right now.
