Long time rider, first time Zx6R owner

Hey everyone, I'm 37 years old and up in Alaska. I have been riding sportbikes since I was 19. My first bike was a Ninja EX500 that I taught myself to ride on. It was a great bike, but I eventually moved on to a brand new 2001 Yamaha YZF600R, which was a great step up and oh so smooth. After that bike I moved back in age but up in power to a 98 Honda 900RR. That bike was a straight up animal. I'll admit I did many retarded squidly things back in those days.

After I got out of the Army in 2001, I gave bikes a long break until 2006, where I picked up a brand new 2007 CBR600RR, which so far has been my favorite bike of all time. I ended up selling it and getting a 2008 GSXR600 which was a good bike but could not compare to the Honda in quality, shifting smoothness or handling. I replaced the 08 GSXR600 with an 09 CBR600RR which was nice but not as nice as the 07 version and had less mid range. I sold that bike in 2010 and have been bikeless until this year where I found a mint 02 Zx6r with only 6200 original miles for 2800 bucks. I couldn't pass on that deal and have had it for a week now, been able to ride it a few times as weather has cooperated and winter hasn't hit yet. It reminds me so much of my 600RRs..Absolutely awesome bike. Anyway, sorry for the long post but looking forward to being part of the ZX6R community and tearing up the twisties on this baby come spring. Keep the rubber side down!

Welcome! The 636 is an awesome engine, makes street riding much easier with the midrange.

If you click on the Advanced Post button at the bottom, you can attach images via the paperclip.

Then you can use [img] tags to make it bigger in your post, or host with Photobucket and use [img] tags.

Never ride faster than you can stop

Thanks man. Yeah that 07 600RR was an incredible bike...about the 599 vs 636. Is there a surefire way to tell aside from the original decals? Mine shows its J model. I could be wrong about the 636...it's carbed and has analog speedo and tach with digital mileage, clock, and temp....ON EDIT: Found the engine number and it's not the 636...great bike regardless!
