New zx6r owner

How is everyone doing? My name is James and I'm from the east Virginia area. I'm new to the zx6r world but not new to riding. My new ride is a 98 zx6r. My other ride is a Suzuki gs500e. I actually traded a vehicle for the zx6r. But when I got it the bike wasn't running. I was told it had a stage 3 jet kit in it and it already has the k&n drop in filter and a muzzy can. I'm currently in the process of going over the bike for coolant leaks and oil leaks. I did clean the carbs up two days ago, pilot jets and mains all blocked. Soaked the carbs in the gallon carb cleaner. Checked all o-rings in the carbs and floats. Float valves look good with no ring around the tip. Put it back together and it fired up on choke with a super high idle around 6k. So I backed the choke off and it dropped to 4K. I then adjusted the idle screw that's just under the left side frame and the bike stalled when the tach needle hit 3k. So I hooked up the sync gauges and they where slightly off. Now it idles great but when I blip the throttle it has a slight hesitation and revs to about 6k then slowly drops to 4K then slowly and steady drop to 1200 which is where I had it set to. So I'm still trying to figure that one out. But I just wanted to drop in and say hey, riding season is upon us and I hope everyone that rides this season rides safe, stay alert and come home safely. Shout out from Gloucester va.

Tomorrow my friend, tomorrow. We just got done tweaking the carbs a bit and got it running smooth. It's loaded on the roll back sitting in a garage till morning when I can get it to the shop to mount my new rubbers and brake pads. Do a lil bit of sticker removal ( cause the guy that had it before me decked it out in trash stickers) and some wax and it's gonna look nice. Shit I googled up some aftermarket stuff for it literally 10 min ago and ran across some pics of my exact bike on another forum. Sportbikes.net.
