Both are well looked after and the favor will be returned when she turns 30 and gets her dream holiday to NYC

for a 14 year old bike she is mint, plan on restoring her bit by bit over the years to better than showroom condition with a few very discreet upgrades.

This winter however the list of jobs is minor: new paddock bobbins, replace aftermarket hugger with OEM chain guard, service with upgraded filters (maybe some iridium plugs aswell), HEL lines, brake fluid flush with new DOT 4 & change to clear indicators rather than the bright orange.

there is obviously a more extensive list for the coming years haha.
Maybe take a look at the steering neck bearings, while you have the opportunity.... low miles and a lot of years, odds increase of water being trapped on the lower bearing race....

Let us know how it goes, I am curious if it is all it is cracked up to be.
I'm more of a beach holiday guy myself but she wants NYC so who am I to disagree

Going to use this as a very slow project thread.

Xmas arrived and Santa left many motorbike themed gifts

1st up was a new pair of Hood kevlar jeans. Don't have any pictures but they are awesome and made in the uk. CE approved armour and if you YouTube them they have some awesome demo videos.

2nd Optimate 3 battery trickle charger. No pictures of this either but for those of us who have to tuck the bikes up for the winter it is an awesome bit of kit, comes with the quick connector so just fit it to the terminals and the plug sits under the pillion seat for easy charging.

3rd R&G bar ends.

4th clear indicator lenses front and back. Keeps the OEM indicators but freshens up the look. Was a super easy fit and came with the orange tinted bulbs.

Update 10/1/17

going to continue to use this as a slow progress thread.

wee UPDATE, ordered an OEM replacement front brake line kit from HEL (carbon effect, chrome banjo's) however they contacted me saying they had problems with the OEM kitting fitting properly and asked if i could send my stock lines down to be used to develop an updated kit for the future. so the lines are currently with HEL and the new ones should hopefully arrive for the weekend for me to fit (pics to follow)

so anyone ordering an OEM replacement lines for J1-A1P models from HEL in the future your welcome

I also removed the tank pad & stickers the previous owner fitted. looks so much cleaner now, I will fit a new less fussy tank pad before I ride it.

with the stickers removed the paint work was looking a bit sorry for itself and being a bright color there was a noticeable difference in shade from were the stickers had been. so a mate came round and gave the bike a good machine polish to remove the color difference, some small scratches and paint swirls. then 2 coats of Meguirs finest wax.

the pictures don't do it just as its in a dull garage and it was raining outside so didn't want to take it out, however i promise to upload some when the weather clears hopefully again a beautiful backdrop of Scottish landscape but for now.

I always really enjoy how much paint can come back, after someone shows it the proper attention..... I would really like it if Santa left me an orbital polisher under the tree next year.
