Mikuni 36mm carb bodies (J3 and later are 37mm)

Main fuel jets.........155 & 157.5
main air jet ...............45
Jet needle.................5E110-54-1
pilot fuel jet...............12.5
pilot air jet.................125
starter jet 35
float height 7mm +/- 2mm is spec but that is a huge range and drastically affects running for the worse....... ( I set them at 8mm or if you do the fuel level measurement, 19.5mm below the float bowl line as installed)

Stupid people say stupid things on the internet, so be wary of who those people are. If you solicit advice on the internet, just keep in mind 99% of what you'll receive is not based on fact or science-and likely atleast 95% of it is based on bullshit and bravado regurgitated from some other schlub who also did not experience any of what they claim and are also full of shit. If you don't like my bluntness- too bad. I am not here to please you, so move along, your approval is not desired nor is it needed. So before opening your pie hole and adding more stupidity, perhaps sit back, listen, absorb and learn something. You know that saying, it is better to remain silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt!

Brilliant, thanks again. I'm planning to remove the carbs, clean them (to ensure the garage did clean them as they told me), check all jets and needles (adjust if required) and reassemble.

I haven't got a massive amount of experience working with carbs but plenty of experience with my cars and I've read some threads about stripping them, it's looks straight forward, I've got the Haynes too so I should be golden.

Just need to convince the girlfriend that the hours I spend in the garage tinkering are worth it might take me a few days to get around to this. If I find any issues I'll be back but thanks again for the help

Cheers scoot33, appreciate that. Let's see how I get on then. Going to pull them out this week and probably go over them on the weekend. Fortunately it is just a weekend toy so I'm not in a massive rush.

One last question, any recommendations for a carb cleaner, various forums are suggesting different aerosols or solutions but some appear to be USA only. I can see aerosols at halfrauds but wasn't sure if there was something better or if these are usually good enough?

Berrymans in the 1 gal can...............soak for hours--agitate the parts about every 20 minutes

but most any of those gallon cans of soak will do, just some take longer than others.......the aerosol stuff is just to rinse off the soak stuff and shoot through the passageways after a proper ultrasonic cleaning
