Just upgraded!

Hey guys!

I'm in the process of selling my 2007 Suzuki GS500F (first bike) and just bought a used 2005 Kawasaki ZX636R with about 15k on it. I'll post pictures once it gets nicer out but I'm looking forward to joining the community you guys got here.

Any tips about this bike that I should keep an eye out for?

Hola senor Chavez! Congrats on the bike...05 and 06 are the best

The only common problems on the 05 are problems with the ECU overheating and the transmission going bad.

Where ya from?

05/06 is a great bike. Would be a good idea to relocate the ECU so it doesn't overheat and be nice to 2nd gear. Other than that, just do the normal maintenance and you should be good to go

Be sure to post up some pics!

Watch out for the ECU and transmission issues (worn dogs/ forks/ drum)

Also you probably need full service at 16,000 miles if it hasn't been done yet (valve lash check, sync)

Welcome as you can see this is a great group who will help with all of your questions. I'm in the southern US nice out here but my grandkids gave a cold so stuck inside! Of course we need some photos! Isn't it fun going from a twin to a inline 4 that makes a lot more HP.

Nice to see some responses!

I'm from Connecticut but go to school in Rhode Island currently.

You guys got any good threads/DIYs for moving the ECU so it doesn't overheat?

Looking forward to joining this awesome new community!
