Welcome.

Please consider getting some decent riding gear, don't want you having major cosmetic changes scraping your tats off.

I know I ordered my jacket today, it is just so hard to look at her in the garage and not ride her. I do appreciate all the concern though.
Thanks everyone! I do plan on waiting for my gear to ride again.

Welcome. I quite enjoy my '09. Over 46K miles so far; once I got it over the initial tech issues it's been very reliable.

'09 had a tech service bulletin on the R/R -- if you haven't already done so, have your local Kawasaki dealer run the VIN to see if the regulator/rectifier has been replaced. You can also check the rails under the passenger seat to see if there is a dot of paint on the subframe to indicate the R/R has been changed out.

If it goes on long enough, it may burn up the stator in the alternator..... either way, I'd recommend against making electrical changes which put more demand on the charging system.

Gear up. Set a precedent in south FL.

"Basic stuff fellas. Use your head for something other than to break your next fall."

"There's this adage that we have 2 ears and one mouth so we should listen twice as much as we talk. Unfortunately with the Internet people have taken this old adage and turned it around. They have two eyes and 10 fingers so they think they need to post 5 times as much as they read. And since they have 10 fingers and one brain, they only have to think 10% of the time! "
