I Ride: 2000 Ninja 250 (Sold), 1983 Nighthawk 650 (Sold), 1992 ZX600D3
Thumbs up New guy in the forum

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone here. Here's a bit of my background:
I've been riding for about 4 years now. I started out with a Ninja 250 (sold), then moved onto a 1983 Nighthawk 600 (sold). Now I'm riding a 1992 Ninja ZX600d3.
I'm a mechanical engineer by trade and I like to tinker with things. I recently launched a youtube channel centered around fixing things, making things, and etc.

The ninja 600 I actually bought as a project bike, I got it for 700 bucks LOL but it had a blown head gasket. I finally had her up and running roughly about 2 years ago and I've been using her as my main bike ever since.

I'm looking to learn from all the information being exchanged here as well as provide things that I can help out with.

If you guys get a chance, check out my latest DIY video on how I fixed that head gasket (
).

I'm looking forward to be part of this forum as well as interacting with you guys,
Karl
Jtscar and Strider like this.

Also, here's my bike before and after. I did all the work and paint myself.

Very nice,, So the work is done and the bike running well?

Sounds like your really ripe for some track days.
Don't make the mistake I made, getting one year of experience 25 times.
IMO, actual training and loads of repetition on the same corners is the only way to really learn how to ride the bike anywhere close to it's limit's. The streets isn't the place to try.

Look forward to your other video's. Keep them coming.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Indy!

Bike is running well for the most part!
Yea, I'm planning on doing some track days in a few more weeks. I'm super excited. It's been way too cold here in Jersey lately and I haven't been able to take out the bike yet.

Any tips for a track day newbie?

Yes, check out the Sport Track Time forum.

Don't know if they are out your way but there are loads of great information.
The biggest is just do it. Get your gear, for novice it's pretty lax.
I started with a two piece leathers, now use them for street riding after I found a sweet deal on a used one piece set.
I would start used from STT, loads of gear from those moving up or out.

STG is a decent place for new gloves and gear.

Do a search, for Track time and look for those who refer to novice and having classes between sessions.
Pretty sure Slo teaches in the NE.

Need anything, feel free to PM me.
