Hello and welcome!

First of all, don't do the "1 click adjustment" to you automatic cam chain tensioner. I would recommend removing it, cleaning and lubing it, then resetting it according to the procedure in the service manual, which you can download from the service manual section of the forum.

Second, that rattle doesn't sound normal. The above procedure may resolve the issue if the noise is indeed the cam chain.

Third, have you checked the oil level or done an oil change? That would be one of the first things I would do on a used bike.

Make sure your exhaust is tight. Headers can get loose and leak a little.

Hi thanks for getting back.

I removed the tensioner and that was clean and working correctly but did refit 1 clock further out however.

The previous owner was changing the oil ever 1000miles.
Last change 51miles ago, level is correct and clean.

I shall check the headers, however its not a exhaust noise. But will check.

Exhaust fully checked on ok tight.

Its booked in for the valves to be checked and new shims if need be in 2 weeks. But was hoping it was something simply.

Thanks

It does sound kind of like an exhaust leak (at the headers?) to me, now that it was mentioned above.
