Kawi Virgin dropping in ;)

Hey there people around the globe.
Just purchased an F2 that hasn't rolled a wheel in 10yrs & only fired up once in that time 4yrs ago! so,with my work cut out I figured joining what is clearly the best zx6 forum on the planet (ass kiss) was a must as I'm 100% certain I'll have a few Q's 😏

Back soon
Peace ✌

welcome.... the obligatory

We like to see where you start from, and what you have in mind for the long haul.

"There's this adage that we have 2 ears and one mouth so we should listen twice as much as we talk. Unfortunately with the Internet people have taken this old adage and turned it around. They have two eyes and 10 fingers so they think they need to post 5 times as much as they read. And since they have 10 fingers and one brain, they only have to think 10% of the time! "

Well... I'm trying ATM but have a weird issue !
A couple of days ago before removing the tank for internal clean due to rust & doing an oil change I connected the battery to see if I had power. All good...
Put the battery on trickle over night while oil drained. Yesterday removed the tank & connected battery which proceeded to cook!! Got super hot & eggy smoke within seconds !! WTF !!
Borrowed another battery this morning (Not the best at around 10v) but as soon as I connect it I get a reading of zero ?. Hooked up the fooked one which started to cook again ?
Just don't make sense how one fries & the other reads naff all when connected ?.
A knackered battery I understand but how a battery that's charged reads nothing when hooked up I just don't get

Not a short but just this minute made some sort of progress...
Disconnected the fuel pump & no more cooking the battery & I now have power!..
Damage been done as V dropped down to just above 10 so I hooked the charger up to see if she'd turn over but I'm just getting a super loud click from the pump relay ?
Not sure why ?
Thought it would at least try to turn over ?

If its just a trickle charger it wont put out enough current to crank the motor. It barely puts out any power...just to keep the battery from discharging while in storage.

Hook the bike up to a car battery if u wanna try to crank it. Leave the car off tho.
