Nice! Post a picture?

Did you take the MSF course?

Everyone will say it: be careful. The supersport bikes will get you in two ways: One, they give you power to make bad decisions. Two, they have enough power to tempt you into something your reflexes won't be able to get you out of.

It'll take self control to learn without wrecking, and time to learn both skills about riding, and skills about handling the bike. They're two different categories.

OP,

To build on this, why do you think the owner(s) before you, put so few miles on the bike?

"Basic stuff fellas. Use your head for something other than to break your next fall."

"There's this adage that we have 2 ears and one mouth so we should listen twice as much as we talk. Unfortunately with the Internet people have taken this old adage and turned it around. They have two eyes and 10 fingers so they think they need to post 5 times as much as they read. And since they have 10 fingers and one brain, they only have to think 10% of the time! "

My previous owner (i got the bike at 971 miles) Got deployed.. bad for him.. good for me! Good thing too because I am noticing that this bike was not the best.. um... taken care of? I have had it for 2 weeks now and I notice a little more then normal slack in the chain (~2 inches) instead of 1.25-1.5. The chain is lubed but dirty (will be adjusting/cleaning/ replacing fluids this week)

Not meaning to hijack so. OP I would be careful this was a very scary at first bike and it will get you if you aren't prepared for turns. Even on my 300 there were a few times when I was driving just a little too fast around a blind corner only ot realize it was a decreasing radius (turn got tighter) and I felt myself drifting into oncoming traffic. Very lucky for me no one was coming. I did not have the skill to be able to lean much more at the time. So I will say train your body first. Wait to buy any upgrades. Since it is used im going to assume it already has levers and a slip on.
