Check to make sure all the contacts and pins are clean and dry. Hit it with some contact cleaner spray.

Trace the wiring all the way back to the ECU. IF the wiring checks out fine, the only other faulty thing I can think of is the ECU itself.

Try to find a buddy with the same bike and swap the ECU's to test it out.

Scorpio is on the right track..... I'd suggest that you unplug every electrical connection you can reach on the wiring harness one at a time, and apply dielectric grease to each one.

If you swapped clusters and still have the fault, it's either the ECU, or the electrical connections between the two. Including a possibility of worn or chaffed wiring.
