I think Ray would win Biker/Motorcyclist of the year hands down.
Id vote for em every time. (Ray is the real F-ing deal)

How about this: One 6OTY winner, but runner up recognition for the bike of the opposite category with the most votes. So if a track bike wins it, runner up goes to the highest voted street bike, and vice versa.

Ok that's all I'm gonna say on this subject. | That sums it up nicely, race bikes are all business and just look slick, but I can really appreciate all the custom work that goes into a street ride.

The issue was that it became a contest in photography skills and not actual bike merit.
You could have a standard, nothing special zx6r and if you ran it through photoshop a few times, all of a sudden it became the most baddest ass bike to ever grace pavement. I mean... that's still kinda the case. Bikes are considered on the basis of many ridiculous nominations (No offense but remember when Kawigirl (not her bike) got nominated because she had a sexy voice?).
The point is that people are going to vote based on their personal biases. If we change the contest to accommodate "types" of bike then essentially we are stepping onto a slippery slope and the next thing you know we will have 9 different categories, some probably completely unrelated to motorcycles.
This place is more of a social networking site than anything these days so it only makes sense that people are going to want to alter the forum to reflect their values and biases as motorcyclists.

But theres probably going to be people who drop 10k on a daily just to make it blingy.
How about 1 category for bikes that have 5k or less invested into them, and one for 5k+? That way, the garage queen street bikes and the race bikes can be in the same group?
Idk? | What if your bike does both...does that mean i can enter it in both catogories in the same month...IE a pic in street trim and a pic in track trim....
I just think people should stop whinging....If you dont want a track bike to win....dont vote for it....and to be honest, usually street bikes are in better condition anyway, alot of track hacks get droped and repaired multiple times...

I say keep it the way it is. Money doesn't matter neither does track or street. Hell I've got a good bit of money in my bike but most people look at it and can't tell. At the same time it also has 20,000 miles on it showing that it's not garage or trailer bitch. I rode her from Hagerstown, Md to New Bern, North Carolina and back in a single weekend. It's almost a 500 mile trip one way. So what category would that get put into, Vote for bikes that are garage kept and clean but still ridden daily with a good bit of money yet still doesn't look it?
Not trying to brag or put anyone down, just saying that when you start trying to break things down for voting you'll end up with 50 different ways of voting and only 3 bikes in each catagory.

The BIKE is what matters, or is supposed to in this contest... The backstory has almost NO bearing. If you saw some of these bikes on the street and didn't know the person behind them, you wouldn't look twice.
Street bike, Race bike, whatever. At what point do we stop drawing lines?
Colors? Naked? Race? Street? Street/strip? Stretched?
It just all seems superfluous to me.

This is just a suggestion, but what if you removed names from the poll option? Instead, call it bike #1, #2, #3, etc and vote based on that. That might help the bias issue/favored personalities thing. obviously some people will recognize some members bikes, but its a start i guess.

Ok that's all I'm gonna say on this subject. | Just like my street bikes! I suppose the one good thing is, in motorcycle hell, I can get away with just about anything. Quote:

The prettiest bike was without a doubt Volfan's.
The amount of work that went into both bikes was as far as I could see pretty equal.
But the decider for me was the story behind the bike, which meant that Ray got my vote hands down, the things he did with Bonnie just weren't what Kawasaki had in mind when they manufactured the 6r. | Thank you! & Volfan's bike does look badass (even with fairings) Quote:

To everyone.
The regulars / vets here know this but I wanted to make sure & reiterate this. Bonnie is no longer mine. I sold her almost half a year ago now.
BUT!
Her legend will live on, even on what's left of our beloved forum here. She is owned by another forum member, who I sincerely feel is just as passionate about continuing her evolution as a weapon, not a showpiece, as I was.
That was honestly the deciding factor in letting her go. I couldn't just let her go to some zit covered kid, fuck no. Seeing the mile wide shit eating grin on my buddie's face first time I let him take her out was awesome. I knew at that point, he'd do everything he could to take care of her & then it was okay to move on. We had a good run, it was beyond epic & it ended sweetly.
It still baffles me I won anything with her. The last thing I ever worried about was cosmetics & that's what the 6OTM revolves around.
Anyways.
She's getting wrenched on at this very moment. Tweaked & built & loved on as I would have, creating a masterpiece of insanity. Crafted only to do what a motorcycle is intended to do & do it exceptionally efficiently.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to Fiona.
-Outlaw.

Sick 6 is a sick 6 Track street doesn't matter to me. I mean I would put Sef's up against any bike I have seen track or street.
