yes i have spent alot of time and money on it ...the bike got virtually destroyed years ago in a crash and it sat in the corner of the garage for 2 odd years in bits
ok i could have taken the easy option and bought a new bike (well i did but i still wanted my J sorted)
but having had the bike for so long i decided to rebuild it
isnt that what bike owners like doing .....i know i do
from the original bike is only a few things left .....frame,clocks,loom and left outer fork tube
so dont think its a bike with a nice paint job as it isnt
but as painting does go i coloured matched it to one of Senna's F1 cars thats how anal i get....before you ask (big fan)....hehehehe
i could give you a list of upgrades during the rebuild like the engine,suspension etc but it would bore you as this isnt your cup of tea
the only reason i came onto this forum is to see after riding the bike for just under 2 years post crash whether any one has done the later swing arm fitment and chris and mike had ......they went through it all and i was then busy modifying it ....so thanks for that guys .....and to me it just didnt look right with the J rear seat unit after i had done the arm i modified the rear end to take the B series seat which i personally like alot better
from the moment i joined i liked the forum so thats why im staying as i think this place is great
i have more pleasure riding the J than i would any other bike i own or have owned .....reason why is that thing ....you know ...... i built the bike thing.... how i want it not how the factory wanted it ....not like every other bike on the road ....there is only one like this and its mine
but as i allways say each to there own ......i will certainly be blasting down the country lanes on my J for many years to come .....
im not into comps and didnt build the bike for it .....
i only built the bike for my riding abuse but as a mechanic i had to give it a different colour scheme after all the mechanical work was done ....(if that makes sense) lol
so thankyou to all the people who likes the bike and have voted for it
