HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography is when you take two or more shots of the same image at different exposures so get get a greater range exposed properly. i.e. you get good highlights and good shadow details.
on a normal image, you'd either get good highlights with very dark, sometimes non-existant shadow detail, or good shadow details with blown out highlights because when you choose youre exposure you either expose for one or the other depending on how/ what you want to show in your image.
HDR gives you the best of both worlds.
it also works best if you take 3 separate images at different exposures rather than shooting in RAW and then producing 3 differently exposed images from the 1 RAW file. the above photos were from 1 RAW file so it still works...just not as well.

I have known about HDR for a little while. What programs are people using to process the images?? I heard it works best if you use auto bracketing on the camera and use +2 / -2 stops

i think it is pretty cool, can't wait to get this real camera and test it out |

can set your drive to auto bracket at 1/3, 1/3, 1 or sometimes even 2 EV steps.
that way you hit the fire and hold it and the shutter fires three times in succession taking three shots at the different exposed steps you set it too.

nice pics
i've found it hard to get detail in my shots if the light levels are too low because the bike is all black.
also in the last shot, try setting your iso to the lowest setting and expose the shot for longer. That way you don't get grain in your photo.

It would make a sick backround image | Yes I have the original, but there is one more watermark in the sky that I photoshoped out. Also, when I get back home I am going to take a couple more shots at lower ISO setting to try to get rid of some of the grain. Send me a PM and gimme your email I will send you a copy / copies
