More signs, no pubs..

New rubber on the bike, nice day, took half of it off to go for a ride to the coast. Apologies to the local guys, it was a spur of the moment thing. 24C / ~75F Nice!

430km (~270 miles), 1st ride of the new season I guess.

More signs, no pubs unlike this thread http://www.ninja6zone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3404

All click for a big one.

A lot have probably seen this one.

Travel times. I went to Skenes Ck (8km from Apollo Bay), then inland for 30km over the Otway Ranges. Turn around at the West Barwon Reservoir as it flattens and straightens out, head back to the coast and fuel up at Apollo Bay.

1st real view of the ocean I got at Anglesea.

A touristy shot

Roads that hug the coast

A pic of the bike

Some Great Ocean Road Signs.

Watch out for Echidna's (Spiny Anteater)

Here's a sample one

Tourists are a major cause of accidents. They pull out of parking areas and promptly drive on the wrong side of the road

It's a prick of a road for overtaking.

Signs like this are always good to see.

i love that these signs are all along the Great Ocean Road.
If foreigners have managed to get that far on the wrong side of the road, then they're doing a bloody good job

I'm jealous of the fact that this route in near enough on your doorstep. I'm planning to do it again this summer, stay a night or 2 at the Lorne Hotel. I swear i could just ride between Lorne and Apollo bay all day

Glad you got to enjoy some of the sunshine we've been getting randomly. Always seems to hide away when my 1 day off a week comes around.

When I got back to Lorne, I turned around and went back as far as Kennett River again, turned around back to Lorne and home. I always have to do that bit at least twice.

It's not really on my doorstep. Lorne is 125km / 1.5 hours from here. But when the Geelong by-pass opens and I can go straight to Warne Ponds it'll shave a heap off the time by missing out on about 20 sets of lights. I could probably get to Traralgon in the same time these day, but not as much fun (Well maybe a tad longer.)

I head straight to Anglesea. I don't go via Torquay as I go for the ride and it doesn't really start for me until Lorne.
