Have you heard the Ford DP in person? The Ford GT is running the same engine, albeit with different exhaust setup. Sounds very similar and completely not what it should sound like being a Ford GT...

And thank you for the kind words.

I am a Ford guy but I hate that they put a 6 cylinder in the GT.. I think the 5.2 in the 350 shows awesome capabilities I really didn't think Ford had with their naturally aspirated engines. Why couldnt they have taken it a step forward and had a 10 cylinder (a v8 at least) in this car.

Great images of all the cars in action btw

I don't mind the choice in engine personally. I'm a 'european car' kind of guy. Turbos are the future(and are flat out awesome). However it just sounds... well like crap.

I'm disappointed in the Ford GT. Don't get me wrong the styling of the car looks fantastic, but I believe what they are doing with the motor may have been a mistake. I saw a few photos of the engine in the car and they slapped "ECOBOOST" badges all over the motor. When I think ecoboost the first thing that comes to mind is EV vehicles and frugal gas saving capabilities, not a supercar!! That's the last thing I want to see when I look at the motor is ecoboost plastered all over the place. At the very least they shouldn't be pulling emblems from the F150 doors and slapping them on the new GT, that's not the message you want to be sending to your consumers.

I agree with you, the huge V10's & V12's are becoming a thing of the past. Although I still love to see them.

I think the 5.2 would have been a great choice, slap two turbos and your have a pretty awesome setup.

That's exactly the point. Ford wants Ecoboost to imply high tech and high performance, and wants every Ecoboost owner to think (even subconsciously) that a little bit of the Ford GT goodness is in their vehicle. Classic marketing that targets the average Ford owner, not you.

It's great way for a race team to convince the Ford brass to fork over the considerable amount of cash needed as well.

Nice pics!

Very valid point and a great way to look at it that I had never explored! I just saw ecobosst as a negative and I assume to an average consumer they may assume they now have the ford GT tech now in there pick up!
