how hard was it to be able to take apart the instrument display on the J seires and install the LED's... also what type did you have to buy? There isn't really a bike section lol

Nugget click the link in the post with the cluster. It should take you to the site--auto bulbs--instrument cluster --& my bulbs were NEO3. When you click "see prices & buy" just pick the color box & get the 3mm. If you email them they'll make sure you get the right ones. I took the windscreen off, pulled the boot for the plug back, unplugged the harness & there are 3 8mm nuts that hold the cluster in place. 5 phillips screws hold the back cover on. It lifts right off & the back of the cluster is exposed.

These 3 bulbs are for your main illumination

Give them approx a 1/4 twist counterclockwise & they lift out.
Factory bulb on the left, LED on the right. It's a little taller but it fits.

I had to wiggle the LED's into the holes vs the factory just fitting right in. Most important thing is to make sure they work before you put it all back together. They are polarized so if one or more doesn't work just take it out & turn it 180 degrees. I held the cluster in my hand (without casing & without touching anything but the edges) plugged the harness in & turned the key to make sure they all worked. I only had to rotate one that wasn't working.

Here's the bag with description & part number. NEO3 is the bulb number, BHP is blue - high power. High power is the 6 lumen bulb (more bright then factory)

A few more pics. We've had a few nice days so i've had a little time to scrub in the new tires & test out my camera.

Way too much sun in this shot

RAM mount cell phone holder. This comes in handy big time when I use my phone for navigation. I also have a 12V socket wired in to keep my phone charged.

ContourHD 1080P camera with rotating flat mount. I still might buy the Hero2.

When I bought it. Blank canvas, just like I like them.

As it sits today. Most of my add-ons aren't EXTREMELY obvious unless you see it in person but it looks better than stock.

Bike looks good bro. Hopefully we'll get to right together this year.

I didn't wanna start a new thread just to ask a question. When I signed up I remember seeing something about changing the screen to black instead of eye bleeding white. Is that still possible or did I look past it somehow? Meanwhile, here's the banner I got off ebay for my garage. I love green & skulls so this was a must. 3'x5'.

Took advantage of the 45 degree sunshine & clear skies to test out the new lid. Snapped a couple of pics.

A little bit of the Columbus skyline

Been a little busy making the garage look better than just 2x4's & plywood. I'm renting so putting up drywall wasn't an option. Cheaper alternative: free boxes from work, free posters from local bike shops, 1 banner bought for me as payment for mod help. Total spent = $6.00. $2 on screws & $4 on tape.

Before:

After:

"Made" it warm enough to install my carbon look yoke cover. Now that I see & like how it looks I'll order the one for the gas cap also. I didn't wanna buy both until I saw it first.

I couldn't help but to paint the K
