Can't ride? Make it modified.

I'm one of those guys that will find a way to modify almost anything so it's the way I want it or different from the rest. My name means "wagon maker" so I guess I was destined to work with my hands in that kind of way. Since I can't ride due to weather & needed to do maintenance I figured I'd extend that project just to keep me busy during the off season. I see we're a bunch of picture people around here so leme STFU & post the pics!

During the "keep me busy" work.

I lowsided this past March & scuffed my stator cover. Hated the bronze color anyway so I matched the stator cover, water pump, front sprocket & clutch cover to the frame plus painted all the bolts blue. Even the rotors, rear sprocket, heel guards & chain guard bolts got painted.

I kinda wanted to give this look a try to see if I like it. Came out pretty good but some riding time will tell if it stays. I tapped them into my city light.

I wired up some LED turn signals on my rear pegs last winter during my boredom. It took about 7 pics before I could catch them lit up with the flashers on.

My winter pic. It was 8 degrees outside.

My Fieldsheer Armadillo back/chest protector I had airbrushed.

A lot of nights after work & weekends spent in the garage with the dog & kerosene heater toasty while doing maintenance, checks, mods, installs & random "I'm not done yet" things just to keep me occupied. Winter sucks but in the end I did the work, saved a lot of money & now...I have to look at it another month & half. I could've waited to start this whole thing next month but those random nice days are approaching. It's supposed to be 54 degrees on Monday. I bet I won't be the only bike on the road.

Looks very good mate.

I would have just filmed the rear indicators then took a screen shot of the video though lol ;-)

Thanks. I'm anxious to get back out & ride. Still have to order my seat covers & new lid. Kevlar cargo jeans showed up today.

Or just bridged the wires on the flasher relay/wired them into a permanent live for the pic

Some good stuff you've done though OP, are those LED strips inside or outside the lens cover?

Thanks. I pulled the nose apart & stuck them on the outside for now. Half the strip is behind the fairing so the LED's are just at the edge. It looks clean otherwise it would drive me crazy.

Nice man. Like the led lights in the headlights and all the blue accents.

My cluster bulbs just showed up today. 3 bulbs for under $10. I used the 6 lumen bulbs here--> NeoWedge series LED Lamp Specifications

It's dark in the center because I removed the center bulb to measure the diameter.

Factory (with center bulb missing)

LED bulbs

The person I dealt with thru email said the 2 lumen has about the same illumination as the factory bulbs. I wanted them a little more bright since I use a mirrored visor.

Props to ya bro on the gear and the work.
The bike is looking very clean.
My 01 was that blue, and you're sure making
me miss her.

But Im still riding the ER and would miss it
even more. lol
It was in the 70s today and lower 80s Friday.

Keep up the boredom beaters.
You're doing a great one off.
...and keep the pics coming.
