Hello all. I just wanted to create a thread to keep track of the mod's I do to my bike. I purchased it on 7/18/13 so I've really only had time to order a few goodies so far.
Targa fender eliminator.
Smoked LED integrated tail light
Shogun no cut frame sliders
Rear Spools
I am thinking about ordering an M4 silp on with silencer. I just don't want to do it if I need a Power Commander to go along with it. I don't need any more power, I just want rid of the huge factory exhaust.
Thank you, I was afraid of back firing without the pc, my 07 did when I added the two brothers slip on. I've never been a big fan of rim tape, not real sure why. :O
Lots of aftermarket from the 09-12 will fit our bikes. I am using a lot of leftover stuff from my 2010 race bike I had. Forums and other people selling used 09-12 stuff can help save $$ when modding (case guards, sprockets, clip-ons, rearsets. 03-04 Ohlins shocks will fit too with the 03-04 lower linkage.
I don't want it that loud. I leave for work early in the morning and don't want to disturb my neighbors. Also, don't want to give cops any more reason to pull me over than necessary.
HID's. I'm going to have to get some new parking lights now.
This thing showed up while I was doing the other work.
A big box of junk.
Finished product. I need to wash it so please excuse the dirty. I took a 170 mile ride on WV country roads prior to working on it. I also installed a battery tender and ran the wire for the radar detector. All in all it was a pretty good day.
Your bike is :drool That exhaust looks so sick on your bike man. And if you have turbo turnsignals at cycle gear sells a relay to make it blink normally and its a plug and play. It made me crazy till I got it. So best 20 bucks spent.

Do you notice some play in your taillight or does it fit snug? Mine has a little movement if I push on it. I was a little concerned but the dealership told me not to worry unless its actually moving around riding.
I like 35 watt HID's, I think the 55 watt ones are overkill. I purchased them from www.aggracing.com. I ordered the Xentech 6000k lights and they work perfect. This was the second pair I have ordered from them. Hard to beat for $55.
I got it off of ebay. The only thing I am unhappy about is that the seller states that it is going to be shipped from Canada when it is actually shipped from China. I don't guess it is a huge deal, I just don't like to be lied to.
i have a o6 would they still be plug and play or would i have to do some rewiring or do you know by chance ive been really looking into getting them just dont know much at all about them:O
After a 165 mile ride through the curvy roads of WV to Hawk's Nest today I decided that I definitely want to install the silencer on the M4. That thing was friggin' loud!!!
Also, I performed her first oil change and it was a clusterfuck. I did not have a wrench that fit so I did it the old fashioned way, punching a screwdriver thru the filter. Once I finally got it off I filled it back up with oil. I finally got everything cleaned up and poured the oil in the gallon jug to take it for recycling when I noticed that the washer was in the bottom of the drain pan. So, I had the pleasure of removing the drain plug and quickly putting the washer on and then screwing it back in. I got lucky and did not lose too much oil.
Anyway, it's done. All future oil changes will be much less of a headache. I love the K&N filters with the nut on the end.
Am I reading my manual right where it says that the air filter needs to be changed already as well?
There was no need to pull the front fairing off on mine. All I had to remove was the two small pieces at the top of the front fairing. Sorry I don't know what they are called. Just takes three screws each. Then I just pulled the rubber covers off. I chose to do a little cutting and soldering to keep it clean, otherwise you will need to put a few small holes in the rubber cover.
ok that makes alot more since than taking the whole thing off lol work smarter not harder lol got ya lol thanks again and yes i know its kinda crazy its only good for that many miles
Tork helmet speakers, K&N air filter, spare K&N oil filter, disc lock, extra cable, snap ring pliers to install the M4 silencer, puig double bubble windscreen, some industrial velcro to mount the radar detector, and some flex loom just in case.
I installed the double bubble yesterday, it's amazing how much difference that simple mod makes. I rode about 170 miles today, mostly in the rain. Could tell a big difference in wind noise and fatigue.
Thank you. I'm normally not a fan of bright colors, I'm more of a black, white, and grey kinda guy. Unfortunately I just did not care much for the matte white on this bike. I realize that most people really like it, it just wasn't for me. I do enjoy looking at them when they belong to someone else though.
