As far as avoiding the death grip on the bars, it's a lot of core strength and mental focus. In the canyons and on my few track days I make a point to focus on staying light on the bars so that I don't work against the front suspension.

That Evo looks damn fun, this is my other baby.

Awesome! I'm pretty excited to work on the bike.

Yeah, I've seen videos of people coming around the corner and then just riding straight into a parked car… or people blipping the throttle and the bike just gets away from them.

Noice! I'm actually the only one in my family with an Evo haha, all my cousins have subies… even my cousins in the philippines have subies. I've even gone to a couple s3's My cousin that lives down in SD just sold his invidia and got an hks. I'm helping him do the swap

Welcome, nice bike, perhaps get a re-wrap on that torn seat? Ride safe.

Yeah, I was thinking about getting some "Bride" or "Recaro" fabric and wrapping the seats myself

Nice bike, man. I like the evo as well. I had a Subie for a little while, but if I ever get another sports car it'll probably be an evo.

unfortunately you'll have to buy it used, or import it too bad they cut production/sale in North America. Was a good car.

Thanks dude! Yeah, the Evo is a ton of fun… I've had lots of cars in the past (Nismo 350Z, RSX Type-S, Mercedes AMG, etc…), and out of all my past cars the Evo is by far the most fun car I've had. It's actually been one of my dream cars.

Yeah :/

But they say production has stopped because they want to do a full reconstruction of the car… They want to build something to go against the GTR. But who knows

Interesting...curious on your thoughts about the Nismo 370z! It was my dream car but then I bought a motorcycle a few years back and realized I'd need something a bit more winter-friendly (barely drive my car in the summer now) and so I had the chance at a regular 370Z but looked around and found the perfect STI instead. For my lifestyle, the choice was much better, just never knew what I was missing with the Z!

As for Mitsubishi, I feel that they are done for in North America, without some major corporate restructuring. They have slashed most of their models except three of them, closed all manufacturing plants here as well. So my guess is either they are doing some major internal transformations in all aspects, which may result in a new, better lancer, or, they are closing shop for good in North America. It would be too bad to see the EVO jump up in price to match the GTR, as less people would have access to such a great car, but would be interesting to see nonetheless!

The Z is super fun, but you're not missing a whole lot. I enjoyed the 350, but it wasn't practical at all. The trunk space was nonexistent, and the no backseats made things harder without being able to carry things around. I had it for two years and then sold it to get the Evo. I think the STI is an awesome choice. 4cyl, turbo, awd, 4 doors, plenty of trunk space… you can't beat that.

Yeah, I hear you on that… There are always lots of rumors from Mitsubishi especially near me. I live 15 minutes from the Mitsubishi corporate office in Cypress, California. And it's a pretty big facility so a lot of people around me either work there, or knows someone that works there. And they're always spitting out rumors… "I heard this…" or "I heard that…" But we'll never really know until they actually do something… otherwise the triple diamonds will be gone here in North America :/
