| World Record holder Bill Warner goes down at Texas
Bill Warner set the sit on motorcycle World Record in July at Loring AFB in Maine at over 311 mph. On Friday he went down during a run in Texas. The speed at the 1/2 mile mark was 236 mph. A photographer near the 1 mile traps said Bill wheelied about 500 feet from the traps but managed to get the bike back down and powered through the traps. The bike went down after going through the traps. No one mile speed was posted. Bill was hung under the bike and received a broken ankle, broken ribs and serious open wounds from the burn through of the leathers. It could have been so much worse. Bill has been contacted by friends and though he is very beaten up, he is in good spirits and already planning his return next season. How fast he was going is as of now unknown. Thoughts and prayers for a complete and speedey recovery are sent out.
