California Superbike School June 1&2

Also, put my deposit in for the June 1st and 2nd dates at Barber Motorsports park.

I did the California Superbike School there last year and it is the most awesome event. I can't recommend this enough.

It's a very educational school if your new to track riding or not. It is very much a school though. It is not open track time. The event is truly first class though. They have tons of interaction with the instructors, a lot of staff around to take care of anything you need and some really great people show up. Plus, Barber is just a fantastic track!

Hope that some of you get a chance to go. See you there.

Definitely sounds like a solid program. I'm heading to the March 24th session at Streets of Willow. Can't wait for the next couple of months to go by.

Yeah, well, unfortunately, me and my buddy got put on the waiting list for the Barber dates. So, we need someone to cancel so we can get in. Really bummed about this.

The dates at Barber are $490 a day if you ride your own bike. It's the most expensive track they take the school to. It's $690 a day if you ride one of their BMW S1000RRs. However, the program is first class and you will learn a lot. Like I said originally, it's not just an open track day. It's serious instruction on how to ride a motorcycle fast. Having done it once now, I can tell you, it's worth every penny.

Fantastic! I can imagine. Sometimes things appear to be costly but in comparison to what you will learn and the experience...it doesn't compare. I'm looking forward to one day taking it. Unless I live in Cali at the time I'll end up renting their S1000RR.

I've heard about this, and I've seen both of Keith Code's "Twist of the Wrist" videos. Really helpful info. I'm curious though, how is the very first class? I'm afraid that the first class is going to be too basic for me, and I'll get bored. Plus, if I'm at a track I'm afraid that I'll want to get out there!

Please share when you can I've heard fantastic things about the school though.

You don't get to choose so far as I know. You do level 1 the first day you are with them, level 2 the second, and so on. You will not get bored if you go with an open mind and a desire to learn. Not sure what they do if you aren't following the program. I assume they take you off the track. They have very specific lessons you do on the track.

Well freaking finally!!! Just got off the phone with the girl at California Superbike School. Me and two friends have been waiting for spots to open up since the end of Jan. Anyway, we are all in so I'll be at Barber on June 1 & 2. Be riding the red '07 ZX6R. I'm so excited now!

Now, got start getting ready. Oil change, chain lube, cable lube, check all fastners, check the safty wire, get all the gear organized, tools the list is long....
