The common saying is "it is cheaper to do track days than get a speeding ticket" it is partially true once you have all the gear.

Cost of a speeding ticket is around 350 (in california) just for the ticket and not including the hike of insurance.

Cost of Trackday: 100-250.
Cost to get to trackday and back: $50.

The problem is getting the items for a trackday.

This was my cost.
Suit: 250 Altered for 150
Boots: 250
Gloves: 200
Back Protector: 50
Total:900

Nice to have:
Trailer:200+100 for a hitch
Generator: 240
Tire Warmers: 240
Front and Rear Stand: 100

The key is to find a local forum that does track days regularly and can fit your bike in their trailer.
In Southern California we have
So Cal Moto So Cal Motorcycle Forum , So Cal sportbike Forum, California sportbike forum, California motorcycle forum -Pretty much the hub of the track days.
OC MOTO - Portal -local to just orange county.
SoCalRidersForum.com - Portal -a newer forum that should work. LA+OC based and spreading out.

If you are unlucky and don't have a local forum then look on craigslist for a cheap trailer.

The car is a 2.4l 4 banger that has 0 trouble pulling the trailer even up hills. I get about 26mpg to the track. Though I need to find a 2in rise for the hitch.

Similar situation in the UK, speeding fine £60 plus increase in insurance, not to mention 3 penalty points (12 and it's no licence)

Booked a trackday the other day £100.

Everyone going the same way round, ambulance waiting for you rather than the other way round, and no blue lights or yellow boxes to give you fines and points. It's just so full of win.

I finally got all my gear. I'm thinking about doing a track day soon maybe next month, u guys have anything planned for then?

The only thing slowing me down is buying the suit & not wanting to wreck a bike i'm still paying for. I know the plan is NOT to wreck but when the plan IS to go faster since it's safer there's a bit of hesitation. I do plan on it next year when the payments are almost over. Lol.
