I know its a dumb question. I cant seem to find the info. I know you are supposed to cover your lights when on the track. Why?? Is it distracting to other riders?

All your lights and lenses you are supposed to tape.

Why?

So if you lay her down your lenses arnt all over the track.

Taping headlights is a carry over from the old days when they use to be glass. But it does help keep the plastic pieces together but more so these days it is so there is less distraction to other riders. You'd be surprised what all you see in your peripheral as you're barreling down on to turn one
