MotoAmerica's Spec tire is the Dunlop GPA for Superstock 600.

That is the only tire I can use at their events....so...I'm not riding any other tire until I'm done racing there.... or they change things up....'cause I need to understand that tire...and I have my bike set-up accordingly...

However.... tons of racers use other brands.. and swear by them....some even refuse to race MA because of such.... and all claim their brand is faster...lol

Yep, I've heard quite of quite a few, include Jason Farrell, who don't want to race in MA simply because of the Dunlops.

I'm on the SC3 superbike pros, but they are my first slick so I can't really compare it to anything else. I don't run warmers and was told they heat up quick so warmers aren't really needed(I take it easy the first two laps). I have no complaints with them and just ordered another set.

2013 zx6r - track bike
2015 grom - pit bike
2016 fz09 - street bike

Just did three days with SC3 Front and Rear. I couldn't get the Pro's (discontinued) and my tyre guy threw these on instead. I did a lot of research on these SC3's (hence how I found this topic) and they aren't a direct replacement for the Pro's which were just a smooth Supercorsa SP street tyre. They are instead a very hard race slick which offers more grip than the Pro's with a very comparable life span.

Wear so far has been great over three days on quite an abrasive track surface that was eating SC1 and SC2 rears. Grip was awesome and for my skill level as just a keen Track Day guy, SC3's are all I need right now. Good lifespan, good grip for my speeds, very confidence inspiring.

I recommend them for the Track Day guy.

Hope this helps someone.

Thanks for the feedback, Row!

Were you using tire warmers?

Yes. Had the warmers on for the three days.

I'm still kinda new to this whole Track Riding thing, so I used the Race Center Pirelli Recommendations as a loose guide as I couldn't find any accurate PSI info for the SC3's. We were running the recommend PSI for the Pro's/SP's for a ballpark figure and would fine tune based on any wear issues that might present themselves. Track temp was around 18-25C over the day.

Off the warmers, we were using 25R / 33F and after a dozen laps when I pitted we were getting the optimal 27R / 34F. I use the word "optimal" loosely because we were using that documents PSI pressures to aim for, and we never ended up varying from that. It holds the heat fine.

The tyre wear was great for me, no tearing at all, and looked great after 3 days. I think I could do maybe another 3 days on these provided they don't suddenly deteriorate. For my speeds (Intermediate), I think the SC3's are a win because I can get more seat time per tyre change. When my speeds improve I might look towards the SC2/SC1 series, but for that learning phase, these are perfect.
