KTM brings such a great pedigree from off-road products. Hopefully they put something good together.

I think Karel gets a lot of hate for his average performance in MotoGP, however I don't expect much this year from him given that he's left with a GP15 and last years defeat in WSBK.

He's getting a lot of hate probably because his dad's paying his way to get last pretty much every time, while others that do even better get canned after a couple of years if they don't perform well enough. Not that the GP grid is at capacity, so I don't really care, but he's taking a spot that could be used by other more talented riders.

Although there is some truth to that, a more talented rider on a GP15 can really only achieve a best result comparable to Hector Barbera's 2016 performance, which in the end wouldn't impact the series at all.

Regardless if his dad is paying for the slot or not it adds to the diversity of MotoGP to have a Czech rider which is important in the Brno round.

I'll add to the conspiracy theory here and point out that his father also owns the track for the Brno round as well... not for nothing I think there may be some truth in this conspiracy.

I personally am split on the issue, he wouldn't be first racer to get a ride based on nepotism so I wouldn't single him out, but that being said I would rather see Eugene Laverty on the bike... I think he has earned it more than Abraham.

Not surprised. They will do everything they can to win again, especially if they can do it now...exactly 10 years since their first and only championship!

Yeah but I don't think Laverty wanted it. I thought I read somewhere a couple of months ago that he had an offer to stay in MotoGP on a Ducati but he chose to go back to WSBK. I don't blame him. He has done better and will do better in WSBK than in GP, and likely to make at least as much money, so why not? Granted in the last couple of years WSBK has got to the point where they have fewer winners than MotoGP! Used to be the other way around not long ago. But hey...that's competition. Can't fault someone for being good at what they do. If you wanna win GP, you're gonna have to fight like hell to beat the aliens. You wanna win WSBK, you still gotta fight like hell to beat the likes of Rea, Sykes and Davies who seem to be in a class of their own at the moment.

But yeah Mr. Abraham owns Brno...that'd be nice lol Wish I had $4.9 million laying around so I can be a track owner...my local track is looking for an investor to buy into it and that's the asking price!

I would have loved to continue seeing Laverty in MotoGP but not on the GP15. That is a waste of his talent compared to what he can do with Aprilia in WSBK. I'm sure he was given the option but it is a fruitless position. I think he will place in the top three for 2017 WSBK.
