The 13+ 636 engine is homologated for MotoAmerica and Farrell was running them last year. Refer to page 74 of the MotoAmerica Regulations for more information MotoAmerica Technical Regulations

JD's read the rule book for MA because he's secretly trying to surprise us all with a MotoAmerica wildcard entry at Laguna Seca this year!

Not sure that the Honda is going to be a great choice for Jake personally but I am really happy to see factory involvement coming back to the MA series. That is a VERY good sign for domestic racing efforts.

Genuine Broaster Chicken Honda: More On The Newest Deal In MotoAmerica Superbike Racing

"For Honda's part, they have committed to a multi-year technical deal. To be clear, this is not a full factory effort by Honda. This a technical support deal that will supply the team with bikes and technical guidance while helping to bring Honda back to American Superbike Racing. AHM has fully committed to this new partnership, as evidenced by the location of the introduction, and are just as eager to showcase the new CBR for the American fans. It has been a long time since AHM has provided this level of support in American road racing. They felt that now was a great time to reenter the paddock due to the strength of MotoAmerica's popularity and the organization of the Genuine Broaster Chicken team."

Looking at the lap times from these sessions made me sad. MotoAmerica is nowhere near as competitive as other national series ...the difference in lap times is pathetic. You look at the difference between the top guys and the last guys and it's like going to a track day and looking at the difference between advance group and novice almost!

Hell in one of the sessions for the 600 guys, there was a 5 second gap between 3rd and 4th place!! WTF?? That is pretty sad. It's pretty clear that come race day, it'll be Beach, Gerloff and Debise at the front, the rest of the field nowhere to be found. In the bike bike race, it'll be just like last year with Hayden, Elias, Beaubier and Hayes....although it looks like the Suzukis might stick it to the Yamahas this year.

Even just having support from the factory is a good thing... Also, Honda is already one of the biggest sponsors MA has already as far as $$$ in the game. They just aren't fielding a full on team. I think they're waiting on the wings like many of the other sponsors were for the first year. They're just holding out longer when it comes to a team. I'm glad to see Kawi and Honda both being represented, even if they're not full factory teams.

It all starts with the kids man. If more people got their kids on bikes instead of playing soccer or baseball, cheerleading and on and on and on... then there'd be better young riders wanting to be world champions. But there are not. This country sucks balls when it comes to sports. Seriously... I fucking hate baseball, don't watch basketball (at least not since the 80's), don't mind watching football on occasion, but damn this country has no taste in other sports or better racing that tractor pulls and NASCAR.

I hear ya man! Totally agree. Unfortunately we are a very very small segment of the total population of sports fans, we're pretty insignificant in size compared to the stick and ball sports fans.

Then again, on the other hand, if there were as many people racing bikes as there were playing football, baseball, basketball, etc. it probably wouldn't be as cool anymore. Part of the cool factor is because it's so much more exclusive, in that it's not for everyone and very few people do it (relatively).

I just remember in one of the BSB races from last season, the guy who finished last (20-25th, somewhere around there) was lapping within less than a second of the guy who won the race! That's how close they were! I was amazed by that, and immediately thought of MotoAmerica where the guy in last is like 15 seconds off the pace in some cases! If MotoAmerica had the 7% rule like WSBK, GP, or other series, there would be a grid of like 5-6 people in some races lol I think their cutoff is 15% if I'm not mistaken.

Anyone else keep up with the results from the COTA test. Looks like they all went faster and faster with each session for the most part. By the end, looked like Beaubier, Hayden and Elias got down in the 2:08s and I'm pretty sure both the Suzukis broke the lap record held by Beaubier.

Props to Bobby Fong for killing it on the STK1000....he was right up there about same pace as Hayes, except for he's doing it on a much less cheaper bike. He was also 2 seconds faster than the next fastest guy in the STK1000 class! If he doesn't crash, I have no doubt he'll win at COTA in the superstock class.

For the 600s, it pretty much stayed the same. Gerloff faster than Debise and Beach by about half a second, but after that the rest aren't even close. 3-4 second gap to the guys in 4th+. The Kawi guys not doing too great. Jody Barry hanging in there about 8.5 seconds off the leader, and Mark Rhoades is on track day pace waaaay behind.
