The 2013 got a Slip on and a custom tune and it is done. It Rips.
Here was my R1 before I crashed it.

Here you go GR. You can buy either one of Ellison's, Haslam's, or Hickman's JG SpeedFit ZX10R's for 40k GBP. Comes with a spare engine and spare set of wheels. Or if you buy all 3, which are all their "A" bikes, you get EVERYTHING they have for those bikes...a few engines, fuel tanks, wheels, suspension parts, clutches and all sorts of other parts. Then you can have an A and B bike for dry setup, and a C bike for just rain!

We made it 4 pages! That's impressive for this forum especially when you factor THUG into the mix

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride! ~Hunter S. Thompson

The stock 2013 Zx6r big piston forks are far better than stock 2013 R1 forks. The stock shocks are both pretty shitty.

I love R1s... I've had a couple... after significant mods (which I do any way just to make my bike into my own vision - healthier than smoking, drugs, or gambling), they make big mileage munchers. They're easy to ride fast - and to echo what others have said, slow going is not their forté. R1s have ways had a great set of lungs on them, the rub is, you're into crazy-ass speed crazy quick. Gaffs, errors, and inattentiveness will get you ticketed, crashed, or dead in the blink of an eye. It's a horny drug.

They both were eventually converted to track only bikes. And the jokes on you... ... ...

Every year R1 needs at least a new shock, and the forks rebuilt. Oh yeah, like all litre bikes, they devour tires, esp. rears.

Plus the R1 has had documented tranny problems. The fact that the warranty fix is splitting the cases to get at the transmission gives me pause. More frightening is that a local tech at a dealership (often of unknown skill) is responsible for this drastic of a recall.

The R1 is beautiful, fun to ride and sounds great, but the above problems kept me off one.

And you think you like the characteristics of the new R1, sorry to say the RSV4 Factory will own you & your heart, and goes without saying your soul. Best motor in a sportbike since the Honda RC30. Oh, gee, there must be a reason for that. If I were in the market for another litre Superbike, I would save an extra year or even 2-yrs to come up with the cash... It has it all out of the box. Or better yet, buy last year's model off of a racer who's getting a new '17, and has already dealt with the fiddly bits. Dead serious.

Your comment has me a bit confused.
I own an RSV4.
I would not own an R1.
This is because the RSV4 is the superior bike in my mind.
Just to make sure I am understood for the record

Can't weigh in on the Rsv4. It sounds like a good bike from what I have heard. I have come to the conclussion that I do need aftermarket suspension to make a bike work for me. I guess the Rsv4 Factory would be the one to have because of the Ohlins. I invested $11,000 for the 2013 R1 with 3500 miles with Ohlins fork cartridges and a TTX GP shock. Don't know if I could have afforded a 2013 Rsv4 Factory with that money.

I see alot of people talking about the Aprilias and I can vouch for it. I've ridden a 2012 RSV4 for roughly 90 miles and it was sublime when it room to play and be the animal it really is. Every little bit of it screams "I'm a track bike so go faster". I was seriously considering getting one but decided on the ZX6R cause I commute on my bikes and the sheer amount if torque it has made it a little difficult to handle on congested roads. If you're a seasoned rider and don't find it difficult to tame your bikes, do the Aprilia. Top end isn't quite as good as the R1 but it gets their in a hurry. Amazing bike, wish I felt comfortable enough to have one. Maybe someday when it's within my skill level haha just my .02

A friend of mine bought a 2012 Factory for $12k if I recall, and it had very few miles...like 1500ish. That was 2 years ago.

Southern California usually commands top dollar for motorcycles. I didn't look or particularly want one but I wouldn't mind trying one out. I have a friend with 2012 Factory.
