Nope, and I've never heard of anyone doing that either aside from stunters who do that when they drift around. Hit the front brake to shift weight forward and then give it a handful of throttle to break the rear tire loose and begin the burnout while still moving. In racing that's obviously not the easier and faster way round a turn. Everyone I know uses the same method as you...or at least in our minds we do! lol

The only thing to add for long sweeper turns is that a lot of times they don't follow a long straight, so there is no need to mash on the brakes. At my home track there are 11 actual turns out of which 2-3 require no braking at all depending on the bike. Out of those 11 turns I would only classify 4 as hard braking zones. Meanwhile at Road America, which is a large point-and-shoot track (aside from the carousel) there are 12 turns and about 6-7 of them are hard braking zones and only 1 turn that really doesn't require any braking and that's because it's the 2nd turn in a really tight chicane.

So...I'm to work with my coach tomorrow on this. I've already proposed the same question around "maintenance throttle" so he is forewarned. This guy rides professionally in Italy so I expect to have a robust discussion and then put it all into practise. Will report back

Uh yeah...so um I apologise, I worked on (maximum) braking all day because I suck at it and so didn't really dig into this question enough.

Edit: I attach a pic of my coach. Not that it helps.
