It should also be noted that there is a SuperCorsa SP version as well but is far less popular on the track. I picked up the SC2 Mediums and im loving them, however it seems that a lot more advanced/faster riders than me will sometimes mix up what they have on the front and on the back.
I wouldn't say more advanced, just riders that have more seat time and know what they want out of a tire.
The front tire choice in Pirelli has less to do with grip or temperatures, and more to do with feel and feedback of the tire. The SC1 (soft) front is easier to keep in its operating temperature (softer compound = more flex = more heat) but because I am accustomed to the harder tire, it feels vague and imprecise to me. I run the SC2 up front (medium) for better control under extreme braking and for sharper turn in (softer compound = less flex = less tire deflection = more precise feeling). It really is personal preference and both compounds are in use at my local track by some of the fastest guys out there.
Most places don't even carry the V1, or at least not in many options. I thought the V1 is just the previous version, so it's just the old model, which sells for less nowadays. I don't know of anyone that gets the V1.
^ this exactly. Not only was the V1 an inferior tire, but at this point the production date has to be at least 3 years old. I would give them a pass.
