9 sec 636

Anyone drag racing the 636? I tested mine for the first time yesterday. The bike is a 2016 with 40 miles on it. Here are my some of my 15 plus passes

That's an interesting break-in method 😀. Only 40 miles on it? Those are some nice runs!

Welcome to the forum Steve..
Say Hi in the new users section.

So the 9 second time is NOT considering reaction time. Didn't know that's how they figured times.
A low 10 second time is nothing to sneeze about. Good run's.

With 50 miles, take it your not one to do the factory break-in schedule LOL.

Do you every hit tracks with corners, 1/4 miles balls out is fun. But 20 minutes all out is really a blast.

No arguing from me, would say get the bike up to temp before hitting the rev limiter.

Nice runs for sure. So few people know how to launch. A little refinement and you will get sub 9's including r/t

you need a quickshifter, you are loosing 10ft +/- of acceleration every time you shift

I had a thought.........If down the drag strip and back is 1/2 mile, then this is a pretty used bike( i.e. 40 miles= 80 runs).

Actually reaction time has nothing to do with your E.T. You can sit there for 10 mins and still go 9 sec times. You''ll just lose to the Harley guy who beat you on the tree by 3 secs!! LOL. Bennett636, actually i had 40 miles on it before I took it to the track. I put a few highway miles on it first. I think I might've put over say 15 miles the other day at the strip like you said back and fourth etc. So now there might be 60 on the clock. I'm testing the Woolich stuff on it and like it a lot!! Have any of you guys used that software ?

Your not allowed to have that in the class, but to tell you the truth, i bet it won't help that much. I have tons and tons of passes foot shifting. When you can run a 10.07 on a missed shift, you have skills!!! just saying. You see with a quick shift you still have to get your foot up, so your doing the same thing, just not backing off the throttle a tad. I don't speed shift I flat shift, and have the shifter reversed, so when I launch I just need to get my foot to the shifter and not on the peg, under the lever and then shift up, its right to the shifter lever!! BAMB!!! On my TPS Logger you don't even see the throttle blip its so quick. Most off them anyway!!

Still can't beat a well setup quickshifter. No human can. Your foot reaction will never be quicker than the computer. I've noticed a significant difference on long straightaways at race tracks with having a QS vs not, and I've passed people on the same bikes on the straights simply because they lost a bit of time with their shifts whereas I never had to let off. It might not be of much help going from 1st to 2nd, but anything from 2nd gear on it will definitely help. But if it's not allowed for the class you're running in...then it really doesn't matter. I think it's good that it's not allowed because otherwise it takes more from the rider skill needed since it makes it easier and more repeatable.
