Well if BART is on time, at best it seems to be about 41 minutes with a 5 minute walk on each end. I've made it on my bike in maybe 37 minutes... But usually closer to 45 with heavy traffic and safe splitting. And stop and go isn't as fun on a 636...

And the parking garage is trying to crack down on bikes and charge $25 a day ($10 after validation)

Yeah I agree. I'm still going to ride every now and then. But the parking garage actually makes it more expensive to take my bike. I know in a car my commute could be up to 1 hr 50 minutes. Insane. Lane splitting at sane speeds still drops it usually 30-60%!

Agree with Alex - please see link from Cycle World that refers to UC Berkeley report on crash statistics and lane splitting as well as the raw report....

UC Berkeley Study Shows Lane-Splitting Motorcyclists are Safer in Traffic

http://www.ots.ca.gov/pdf/Publicatio...afety-2015.pdf

But looking at the video I'd guess that the rate of closure between OP and traffic was significantly higher than the recommended 5-10mph as listed in the report.
