2015 Season Sum Up

Hey guys,

I haven't posted much since my introduction, as I was pretty busy putting some 8k miles on my bike. I figured a quick summary may be in order.

I have been mostly staying around the Birmingham area, which does not have too many twisty roads to offer, but I've gotten my practice in, and really working on that chicken strip. I was able to get onto my 2nd set of tires, got two services done, and now decided to keep her covered for the colder weather. I need to downsize on my helmet, so trying to sell my gear during the off season and prepare for next year.

I just (literally an hour ago) ordered some stainless steel brake lines, brake pads and new shift/brake levers. I hope to get those projects done by February so I can go to my first Daytona Beach Bike Week in March.

I went on two out of town trips to Chattanooga and found out about the free Friday concerts/bike meets they have. Sadly it was the last weekend for the season, but I'll be back next year. I love being surrounded by bikes and riders of all kinds. So much to learn, and to share.

I hope to find some riding buddies next year, I've met a couple of guys (no lady riders around, it seems) just not sure if we'll meet up again next year.

If anyone on here is close to my area, let me know, I plan on being active again around mid February. Until then I'll be reading about bikes, watching bikes on Youtube, dreaming about bikes, and hopefully work on my bike.

I knew I would love being an active rider, I just had no idea how quickly I would get so wrapped up. It's become my therapy, my happy place.

I hope everyone had a great season, and for those in warmer climates, or the bad asses who ride all seasons, enjoy your ride, and be safe!

Welcome, and always nice to see the fairer sex riding. Hopefully the leg humpers will leave you be ;-)

As for riders, I am afraid that I am too far away but keep looking for local bike nights. While they tend to be a little, err, not my thing...it is at least a good way to meet fellow riders.
