Was out riding with a buddy who's a new rider, and I was in the lead. It was by his request, since he led the day before and wanted someone in front to give him some visual cues to follow. We're taking it pretty easy, right about the speed limit, really casual on the turns.
Well, we come up to a 90 right at an intersection, and, like usual, I do a later tip-in and then execute the turn quickly (more lean, shorter overall turn than a big arc around the corner). Well, sure enough, there's a decent little slew of gravel right there.
From what I can recall, the front end just tucked down and the bike laid right down. I jumped up and ran over, righted it, and checked the engine cover. Just like the MotoGP guys do, except take one 0 off their speed. I did NOT want it to be cracked. Fortunately, just some scratches on the plastic, and a broken rear brake footpeg. I rode it home.
I was wearing leathers, and it would have been a nice little scrape without protective pants. As it was, my buddy says "I think I'll shop for some pants today"
