Why is my 07 zx6 so hard to wheelie?

My zx6 is so hard to pop up the front tire. My friend has a r6 and that thing is so easy it makes me wonder what's wrong with mine. I understand there more for track and acceleration but come on. Let me have a little fun. Anyone else have this problem or found a solution, such as Rpms for clutching it up. Or am I gonna have to get this https://www.motomummy.com/store/prod...cat=601&page=1.

It's not the bike dude. It just takes plenty of time to learn how to get it just right. I think most people go through a period where they think something is wrong with their bike. I know I did.

yup, diabolikal is right. it's not the bike, you're just not doing it right. go to youtube and watch tutorials by downshift83. he has the same bike you have and has great vids. also, search some of the wheelie threads on here and read them.

I could not do power wheelies on my brand new 09 till someone finally told me to sit back on the seat and take it up to about 11,500 rpms let off for a sec and crack it wide open again !

That changed evreything ...scared !!!!!!

When I was still in Hawaii, I saw a dude bustin a tall ass wheelie on a really old shitty lookin moped. It's not an easy thing to just go out and do good right away.

I can wheelie his r6 like its nothin. He won't try it on mine because he doesn't wanna tack it up and let her rip. I was able to lift the front tire a little bit if I clutch it up in first but that's a little risky considering how far I have to rev it. I prolly just need more practice with the bike. I've had it for a yr and just now started getting to the point of wheelie exploration.

Has your buddy changed the gearing on his r6. If you change the gearing on your bike -1 +2 and some practice you will be able to get it up.

You just need practice, there is no need to mess with gearing because it will definitely come up completely stock. I came reeeeally close to changing my gearing but I realized that there are plenty of people wheelieing all day long on my same bike completely stock. That's when I vowed to learn that shit stock!

In first i role along at 10-15 mph. crank the throttle round a bit. (not to full..maybe half way?) then when i hit about 7k i pop the clutch in for a split second and straight back out and im away. I cant hold it yet as i need to grow a pair but it goes up easy enough.

seriously bro, its easy to get the wheel up, balance point is a whole new monster tho. on my ride home from work i cracked it wide open in second and got the tire off the ground (small hill) but off the ground nonetheless! its not about the revs its about leaning back and blipin the clutch just right.

the new R6's 06+ are light you don't need to clutch you can tank the front up

If you can see my rear light , your speeding , too many speeders kill people <<< slow down.

its all down to timing
you may be blipping the revs and dropping the clutch all in a split secong wrong
check out some youtube vides downshifters is one and some others on here
i can wheelie mine with stock gearing on but i have gone up 6 on rear - 1 on front
just dont go for big licks and "cover the rear brake"
moving your backside back does help i still prefer to do mine sitting down

careful .. ride / wheelie safe
