Did my first wheelie

So I've been able to pop wheelies for months. Never had the balls to ride one out. Well I finally was able to muster up enough courage to stay in the throttle. I only held it for maybe a second but man did it feel good.

i have an 08. i usually take first gear up to 6k, slip the clutch, have the throttle maybe about 2/3 full, and it pops up.. 2nd gear is basically the same, except i use full throttle..
if your still learning, do gradual increases on the throttle until you find the money spot for your bike

and congrats on your wheelie zxnasty, i know they def feel good after running them out

I don't know if it would work the same on yours. But I followed one of downshift83's videos where he talks about in 1st gear, give it throttle then just slip the clutch. gradually increase the throttle. I'm running at like 6 grand give it about half throttle and it pops up.

Agreed on the dirtbike practice. All the boys I know that can ride insanely long wheelies started on dirtbikes and rode them there first. Its where I learned to ride a wheelie, only problem with me is that I never learned to cover the rear brake which is stupid of me

I wished I could practice on a dirtbike. A lot of my friends learned there but I didn't have the chance. That's why I just took it really slow. All in good fun

Question

WOW.. Well done ZXnasty... yo i wish i could learn how to wheelie, quick question, how do you sit on the bike i have heard you bring it to 7k or 6k but then how do you clutch (1finger or 2fingers) i clutch with 3 fingers, i have already started to try the hole jecking the bike, but it feels like my left hand is sliping when i try to wheelie, what must i do to make sure my hand stays on the handle, another thing what do i do on the throttle when i pull in the clutch... Help!!!

Always use one finger on the clutch that way you have more control of the bars and don't slip off. Scoot your ass all the way back so more weight is on the rear wheel. Take it little by little.

loads of practise dont go for the 1 mile wheelie on your 3rd try
takes time
and then also takes time to be confident on getting the balance point

happy days
cover the rear brake

I sit in my normal position but im pretty light at 140 lbs so that's why. It took me a while to figure out RPM and throttle, it's not really what RPM it's a matter of how much throttle you give it and how you slip the clutch. I don't jerk up at all in first gear. And I clutch with 2 fingers because its more comfortables. Getting some shorties soon and then will probably clutch with one finger. PRACTICE AND TAKE IT SLOW. Took me four months to do it, and cover your rear brake
