Spinning rear tire trying to pop up.

Title states it all pretty much.
I am running 36/42 psi front/back.
The tires were (drove 30 miles before) somewhat warm.
I even did a small burn out to try and increase my traction.
It was cold out... Could that be an issue?
Too much RPM?
I'll try the staggered step tomorrow if its nice out. - I must have given it waaay too much throttle because I ended up sideways almost.
Read though the other learning wheelie post. Didn't know if that was for Q's or for videos..

Cold road is definatly a factor. I seem to run into that problem occasionally when its colder out. How many RPM were you at when you clutched up? I usually do around 6-8 k RPM and always comes up easy. But yes cold road and only slightly warm tires and too much rpm's could definatly just make it spin.

Sorry i kind of rambled a little

Try sittin farther back on the seat if your not already, you must noy have much weight back there, and stunters usually run lower pressure in the rear, so do drag cars for grip but I would learn how to do it without altering tire pressures

I learned to do that for second gear clutch ups since the seat is so huge on the 06 at least and I weight 220 haha so that could be a difference, get a bookbag on and strap a bag of quikrete to the back seat for that extra leverage haha just don't get it wet

If youre tryin to learn to stunt in a lot then dropping tire pressure will help w/ your side to side topple but if youre just looking to ride em on straight stetches leave stock tire pressure where its at itll eff you up n the turns but its most likely too high rpms thats rolling burn outs and that a different leason

i dropped the pressure a bit in mine but if you see the couple of vids i posted you still see puffs of smoke (tyre spin) i agree get the tyres warm and damp / cold roads makes it harder but still do-a-ble

I dropped the PSI to about 35-36 in the rear.
-skip- Went out today. (still chilly, but sunny out)
rode around for about 50 miles. looking for a nice place to practice, came upon a newly developed area, which was completely flat, and a huge rectangular road around it, massive area, nice pavement, and best of all no cars (expect for the one student driver who was on the other side of the rectangle)
-unskip-
I got the bike up a few times. trying both the staggered step, and just sitting on the seat.
The wheelies were very short, not very tall. Will work on it more as I can.
When I clutch in to get the front up, should i drop the clutch, or just release it progressivly (but still damn fast.)
I guess it would accomplish the same thing.
Anywho, thanks all for the help

roll on a bit i do mine in 2nd gear for now,
anyhow roll on 15 /20mph and pull in clutch get the revs up higher and dump the clutch
do it time and time again untill you fell its right, dont go for a big handfull of revs for your first goes just lift the wheel
and cover the rear brake
have fun

you right by the way
progressivly (but still damn fast.)

the cold is your problem... also possibly the brand of tire. When i spin clutching it up i usually just power it up instead

I found the problem, and solution.

Remove Shinkos. Replace with ANY OTHER brand. Repeat wheelie exercises successfully.

All kidding aside, what shape are your tires in? There's gotta be some reason you're spinning. Could be a combination of low temp, and not too grippy road... Or tires.
