New to the stunting scene, I've got a 2011 zx6r and just curious which is better to start learning to wheelie. Power or clutch all info will really help.

Power ups can quickly get out of hand if you arent careful. I've seen a lot of noobs loop their bikes doing those. If youre gonna do this (on a brand new bike at that), I'd experiment with clutch ups first. You can start small and work your way up, figuring out what works and how much gas you need to give it to keep the front end up.

Personally, I wouldnt be trying this on a brand new bike if you're a noob to wheelies. Go get a beater for 2k and play in a parking lot somewhere...

fisrt thing to learn is use the rear brake
so what i did is lifeted up the front end (clutch) and made sure i could still control it with the rear brake
in other words
a little wheelie off the clutch roll ons slowly in 1st not to many revs as 1st is snatchy get the front end up a foot or so drop the revs and also cover / use the rear brake
take your time and get used to the wheel comming up higher and higher but also use the rear brake,
you'll get days where it all goes wrong and you'll be braking when its trying to come up
but loads of practise mate
and ohhh... vids are welcome in here hehehehe

ps check up on laods of other post in here as the lads are really helpfull and good

If you search around the stunting are you will have all your questions asnwerd.

Powerwheelies are very unpredictable and very unsafe and can go south very quickly not to mention you just chase them out and run out of rpms.. speed in wheelies is not a good thing either. clutch ups are so much better.. you just have to play with it a lil... and get some gearing done.. I can go on and on about it..

From what I have read, people say that it is crazy to stunt on a new bike because you WILL lay it down when practicing. There is no way you will stand it right up and have no close calls. Plus the stunters take off fairings and put frame sliders/ engine cage on it. Cuz they know they will lay it over. I would not do this on a new bike unless you are okay buying a new set of fairings. I have also watched a bunch of videos on wheelies and they say to start with clutch wheelies.
