He is probably coastering *clutch in* so you have to be at balance point.
2 balance points. One for fast street wheelies.
and then much higher (forks parallel with ground) for rear brake stunting balance point.
Guy above on GSXR isnt your average wheelier. If he wasnt skilled, he would flip it, but hes on the rear brake, his speed will be settled or more than likely slowing down |

i can tell you this,, balance point on almost ever bike is about where the forks are straight out... unless your doing seat standers,, then its a lil bit lower but not too much. another way you can tell is if you can still see over your windscreen on a sit down. your not close to balance. and you can still chase at balance.

I still got rash from a wheelie like the first on. I was on a dirtbike and tried to hit the rear brake about 6 inches back from where it actually was. Stupid dirtbikes and their forward style pegs.

Sitdowns are one of the harder types of wheelies to do becuz you have to keep the front up so much higher then you would in a normal SS, Spreader, Rear peg, etc...In a sitdown depending on the bike and the speed your going your fork tubes are going to be about damn near horizontal or pointed up if your doing beyond bp tricks (coaster). and that picture you put up is balance point or maybe a lil beyond. Heres a good sitdown clip. |

Well that awsome news cuz i been practicing nothin but sitdowns for a year. I am just now finally at the balance point although i chase it out instead of balance it but atleast i am at that height now, so hopefully when i switch to stand ups they will be easy then... Stand ups are gonna my goal for this summer ..when i was learning sit sowns i got in position to do stand ups (twice) but in that position i did not feel safe and was to scared to pop it up ? Im about to figure it out though

sitdowns will probly be the hardest wheelie you'll learn. they take the most control to ride because your playing with the BP of the motorcycle. If you find yourself chasing the wheelie til the bike runs out of gear then your not at BP.

ANYTIME the forks are parallel with the ground you are very close or on top of the bp. This picture is perfectly at bp. It varies depending on stance and speed as well, but sitting down, bp is parallel, should be able to see perfectly down your forks.
