first off sorry for starting a thread instead of searching but i am planning on going to an unused warehouse with a couple buddies in lil bit, just wondering what would happen if a cop pulled up?

Depends on if he's a jackass or not

no one online can tell you what the cop will say. Some can tell you what cops said to them in their situation but sadly for you...only one way to find out.

Basically if he pulls up and see your mid wheelie...not much you can say to get out of it. Go with your gut. Find a better more concealed place place, or don't go and do it. Or you can just stay there for about 30 min, then move to another site, and do that threw the night. The longer you stay at a location the greater the chance of getting caught.

Parking lots are usually considered private property. In that situation, unless the owner is the one who placed the call, he can only ask you to leave. Unless he wants to be a douche and then he can do as he pleases. Just be nice and be sure to say you didn't want to be doing this where it places the general public at harm and since this place is abandoned, you thought it would be a good idea. If you can find the property owners and get permission from them that you're liable for any damages and any injuries that may occur and the owner, under no circumstances, can be sued or responsible for anything that occurs, that is choice.

You can probably go to the city hall and they might have maps on who owns which properties. They almost have to have some kind of records saying who owns what. Then I would just ask them for the contact info of that individual and get ahold of them and see if they'll let you use their parking lot.

I can almost guarantee that if you contact the owner of the property and ask for permission, the answer is NO. Because if you were to get hurt, they can be sued. So most people just do it without permission. Many times the owner will know, but look the other way if they're cool and see that you're not messing/damaging the property.

As far as cops are concerned, as stated above, it's private property and unless you're an immediate danger to the public, they will ask you to stop and leave for disturbance or some BS like that. But I'm sure they can come up with some other BS if they wanted to.

This isn't always the case. Granted I'm already a few steps ahead of learning control. I took a liability waiver from stuntlife or stuntride forums and presented myself very formally to the property owners. Told them I am practicing for a charity event and would like to use part of their property. I reassured them, I am liable for all my own actions and responsible for any damages incurred. If you have it in formal writing and have control of your stunts then occasionally its not a problem.

in retrospect... it's not that serious. Find a good secluded spot. If it's a good spot with little to no visibility by cars on the street or anyone else. You probably wont be bothered all night. Have a good excuse ready and hope and pray if you get spotted by a cop that they aren't a jerk.

This is what stunters have to go thru, finding locations and dodging cops.
