hey guys, i just boughtmyself a beautiful 06 636. i am in love to say teh least an dlove it more n more each day. the whole bike thing isnt really new to me iv had tons of dirtbikes and quads since i was young. but this is my first street bike. so ofcourse i try to stun and wheelie. i can roll it off the throttle in first but liek iv read and experienced myself it is a bit sketchy and kind of unsafe. so what id liek to do is clutch it in 2nd gear tio pop itup at a slower speed and be able to ride it out longer. but th eproblem is i cant do it. the way i do it is bring it up to about 8k and pull the lcutch in til it dissengages then let it back out, and the front end BARELY comes up. what am i doing wrong? help me bc i need it. thanks in advance guys |

you have to roll on the throttle when you pull in the clutch lever

try this, get cruzing about 35 in second, pull in clutch, rev to about 8k and as your letting out the clutch roll on the throttle a little more...

haha wont come up in 2nd my ass. I was rolling one day in 3rd about 30mph just playin around making it jump forward using the clutch and it came up without even meaning to. I think I revved it to about 11 or so but yes it will do it and maybe light some tire in the process

im no expert but there are so many different ways and I mess around with all of them. One way I have done just messing around was coming out of a town and opened it up all the way and pulled the clutch in and let it out smoothly at about 6-7k while keeping it wide open thats always exciting. As far as dumping or slipping while accelerating Idk. I actually use a method like matching the throttle with the clutch just like you do in a manual car when you want to take off fast without spinning tire. Think of the throttle as if it was just another lever like say the front brake lever and the farther you pull it in the more gas she gets. Well you would pull it in the same as you were letting out on the clutch if you understand that.

ok guys heres the update. me and my friends went to a nice big parkinglot where cops dont care where a bunch of other people stunt. so iwas playin with the clutchin and i finally got it up in 2nd gear. i had a couple nice ones. i figured out how to do it i had to rev it alot tho and let it go , but i still need practice. now i just need to learn hwo to actually keep it up. i went down 1 tooth in the front, and have the vortex sprocket kit comming in the mail with 45 tooth sprocket in the back with a RK chain. so hopefuylly that will aid in my wheelies

that bike does not need to be geared to wheelie! you just need to stay in the gas! stay in the gas as your clutching it an on the come up... once you can't see the road in front of you roll off smoothly then roll back into it smoothly... just keep repeating that, that is how you keep it up.. DO NOT be choppy!

Especially when learning to wheelie in second gear, if you loop out its going to be bad.
If your going to do it anyway then just clutch it harder and cover the rear brake. There is no need for bigger gearing to do wheelies, that is such a big misconception with new riders. My stock geared 636 will come up in 3rd at around 30mph if I clutch it hard enough. Good luck and be safe.
