I gave up all that stuff when I realised it wrecks your bike-even if you're good at it!.

My head has been exploding around this concept of clutch up wheelies. I can power wheelie by rolling the throttle all the right ways, but that's usually in 1st maybe second if I start throwing my weight big time. Clutch ups seem nice because you can ride them in 2nd gear. Problem I have is actually doing it. Clutch in, revs up, dump the clutch out and the bike just jumps forward. I've got to be doing something wrong, but for the life of me I can't figure out what.

Practice 1st gear clutch ups until you get those down first, then graduate to 2nd gear...so I have been told. Every time my front wheel has been off the deck its been unintentional.

Probably so, I'm just scared of looping it. I got my full Christ down the other day and that took some serious trust in the bike.

Buddy of mine is great at it. We went out one night on a back road his plan was to teach me how to. I did a few on my FZ6R but never on my Ninja other than power wheelies, it does them easy slid ass all the way back hammer gas up in first up in second up in third. The first time I did it on the Ninja that bitch came up so fast , gas tank blasted me in the chest front end came slamming down. We just laughed and that was my first and last try of the all mighty clutch up lol.. I have seen too many U TUBE vids of peeps just riding along doing a wheelie then the o shit wobble then they are watching the bike slide down the street. No Thanks

Baby steps. I'm decent, but I have my off days where I only half clutch it up and fear sets in, like a bad gut feeling. I won't wheelie that whole day. Other days I'm riding out BP. Hit or miss for me. Biggest fear is dropping it since my bike isn't caged yet. That always keeps the wheelie from being successful. If you're scared it won't work. Start small, clutch ups just barely getting the front up, slow back down and try again. It'll take like 40-60 attempts and slowly but surely it'll become muscle memory as to how much throttle at what speed gets you how high.

i had this problem too when i first started clutching up, for me i was pulling the clutch in to far like all the way in to far using 2 fingers, because when i used one finger the lever hit my knuckle so i never thought it was pulled in enough, but it turned out that with 1 finger when the level hits your knuckle it was plenty enough to engage the clutch.
