I've been ridin since I got my bike on June 1st...it's great and you'll def outgrow that 250 faster than expected , especially if you ever touch the highway

I paid $4000 cash..please see pics on the July 2011 6OTM thread..don't trust me I got a good deal...see for yourself

Start with a 600 or 750

Or new 1000 that you have break in ie rpm restrictions

Stay away from that r1...you will fuck yourself
Front wheel comes up in almost every gear

Oh be sure to go max speed in your car a few times comfortably to prepare

Then why in the hell have we (the USA) been pumping money into Africa for over 25 years when you guys can apparently take care of your own famine and poverty On another note...get a 2008-2010 used 250R from the US & import it. Those can be found for around $2800-$3k in lots of places.

i learned on my 07 zx6r..i don't regret anything. a lot of people will say the best way to learn is on a 250 and i totally agree with them but i went ahead and spent the money on a 600, showed a little restraint and took everything SLOWLY and loved every bit of it..just my 2 cents..good luck on getting the right bike

The key isn't the bike, it's you. No matter what bike you get if you are not comfortable on it, there will be problems. Whatever you get, go to a rider school and learn how to properly react in unexpected situations. It has to become second nature. After a rider school, get you some track time somewhere and practice, practice, practice. Like walking, riding is learned.

Thanks guys i'm hoping that when i actually start learning it'll give me a better idea of what to get, cause its hard to compare 250 and 650 when all you've done is sit on them.

Oh yeah its just certain parts of Africa mainly northern and central that need aid cause of civil wars, the southern countries are somewhat better problem is that wealth is so unevenly distributed. One example when we buy cars we buy them outright no monthly payments and you'll see people buying a 2011 ML63 AMG with 50% duty without flinching (thats like $200000)
