Motogp dieing a slow death...thanx dorna

SO..... Whos gonna be signing upto BT to watch MOTOGP from 2014 then !!!!! KNOW I WONT...... Looks like MOTOGP gonna be dieing a slow death as seen loads of comments saying they wont be watching MOTOGP from 2014... STORY........ BT has signed a five-year deal to show MotoGP exclusively live in the UK from the 2014 world championship campaign onwards.

The deal, which MCN revealed would be confirmed today from last weekend’s Spanish MotoGP race in Jerez, was announced during a high-profile launch for the new digital sports channel in London.

The deal means free-to-air coverage of MotoGP on the BBC and all coverage of British Eurosport will cease at the end of 2013.

Details of the BT Sport’s plans were confirmed today in a launch that was attended by Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Team rider Cal Crutchlow and Moto2 world title contender Scott Redding.

Access to all three BT Sport channels will be free to BT Broadband customers. Other customers will need to pay a £15 per month subscription to see BT Sport. It will be available to view on Sky’s satellite platform.

No details on who will present or commentate for BT Sport have been revealed yet.
A statement from Dorna earlier today read: “Dorna Sports announces today an agreement with BT Sport for the exclusive broadcast rights to the FIM MotoGP World Championship, starting from the 2014 season, to be shown across all its platforms in the UK and Ireland.

"The five-year agreement will see MotoGP as premium programming in the thrilling line up of top sports on the new BT Sport channels.

This truly sucks -- The BBC has done a great job with covering MotoGP. The build up, race interviews, etc is fantastic. This truly is a shame....

The coverage here in America sucks and does nothing to promote the sport and connect the viewer to each individual rider. It might be free...but still...

This seem to be the norm now a days with professional sports. Fine example, here in Los Angeles area, the Lakers and Dodgers have a exclusive deal with one TV network forcing fans to switch in order to watch their favorite teams. Deals were made with other cable providers, but we all ended up paying more at the end.

Greedy ass people & pay TV have killed everything.
I remember when I was a kid. GP races used to come on ABC's wide world of sports on Sundays. That & boxing title fights. It was free to watch. No cable was needed. A pair of bunny ears, and you were good.

This does suck. Next thing beIN sport will start charging us (in the states) to see WSBK.
& I still don't know what this new FOX sport channel is going to do when they take over motogp coverage in August.

Hey Bod, not that this has any relevance to the thread but I thought I'd mention that my whole family comes from Rotherham. I'm the only one that escaped

Dorna are raising their prices and pushing their website meaning less people are now watching it.

We cant even get it here in NZ, our SKY Sport wasnt willing to pay what Dorna wanted.
I have to download the torrents and watch it the next day.
