Nw200

Is anyone making the trip to Ireland for the NW200?

We are almost prepared and are on the Ferry at silly o'clock Wednesday morning

If you have never been, it's a trip I would highly recommend, top level International Road Racing mixed with the good old irish "Craic"

You'll need a few days off work afterward to recover mind

A former teammate of mine is going and I think actually racing in the AM division as it is a requirement to race in the IoMTT.

I live in NI and have never been to anything like this.

I'm not sure yet but I may be able to head up on Thursday afternoon. It looks like they are closing the roads at 5pm, Do you think it's easy enough to find a good spot if was to turn up around 3 or 4? I've no idea what it's like.

I hate to say it but it is not a requirement for the TT
Yes it is a great race for TT preparation as it gives you a chance to get dialled into the speeds that you will be doing on the Mountain circuit.
If you have'nt got your mountain course license by now, you won't be a starter at the TT, it's all a bit of a joke this Mountain Course License anyway, you just have to have competed in 6 races to qualify, any races will do. What a club race round Mallory Park has got to do with the TT circuit is anyones guess, it really is'nt relevant but it does give the ACU and the clubs an extra revenue stream.

Sam 37, did you go?
Sorry I did'nt get back to you but being a Manx resident we struggle to get internet connection off the Island and it was all a bit of a rush before I went.
Once we got there , well, we had plenty to do.
I can't believe living in bangor you have'nt been to at least one Road Race, The NW is only an hour from you and the UGP is the other side of Belfast......What have you been doing?

Bangor is a lovely town by the way, we sail there quite often and always enjoy the stay.
You are lucky to live there.

Don't worry about it . I nearly made it on Thursday but the time I could have gotten there I would only have seen the last race or two, so I decided not to. As it happens that's when the crash with Farquhar happened anyway and the last race was cancelled.

I will hopefully be there next year fingers crossed! In my defence I've only been interested in bikes for approaching two years. (Passed my test January last year).
