Zx10r trade for zx6r

Hey guys,

I'm about done with litre bikes. I think it's far too insane for road use. More expensive on fuel, insurance and tyres than my zx6r was.

I will trade for a 2007+ zx6r

Email me at lukebolger101@gmail.com

I feel the same way. Nobody needs 1000 for the street or track. Its scary to ride a 1000cc at 80% vs riding a 600 at 100%.

I still don't get why kids upgrade after 1 year of riding a 600. They "need" more power....

That's what I felt. It was mainly peer pressure from my mates who have r1s.

Plus to be fair I think my riding was better on the six. I have to be careful with the throttle on the ten, on the six I could hammer it full throttle all the time

Well see... that's where you're not correct. You're stating your opinion, which is fine. But just because one person thinks something is "scary" isn't grounds to say that "nobody needs" a liter bike. Sure... I'll agree that for street a 1000cc superbike isn't the greatest idea in the world. But to say that nobody needs one for track is lame. And trust me.... You're not riding that 600 to 100%.

I ride pretty fucking hard and I'm still at MAYBE 95% most of the time. Rarely am I riding on that edge of out of control.... especially at a track day.

I've ridden a few 1000's on the track and you have to ride them differently. That's all. I know that with a bit more time on my buddy's new R1 I'd have faster lap times than I do on my ZX6. You just have to get used to the power.

It's pretty fun leaving a black stripe out of every turn

Yeap i didnt agree with you guys until recently.... until my first trackday. i was looking to trade it for a 1000 but i discover that a 600 is plenty for the track. Is better to drive a "slow" bike fast and a liter bike slow! I understand the street guy wanting a 1000 since its pretty much straigh road and for acceleration. But went you use it on the track is different. lot of guys told me there was missing their 600 track bike after years on 1000. Anyway each their own.

You're prob a better rider than me. To me, riding the 636 is more forgiving if you mess up. Yes, I'm not riding it at 100%, but I'm learning. The 1000's, you have to be on your top game. For the tracks near me, its perfect for 600's.
Those new R1's are a beast. You think you are riding slow but actually flying .

Wave to them when you pass the R1 around a corner on your zx6r

I would agree that they are a little more forgiving when it comes to throttle but aside from that... it's just a slightly heavier bike. Nothing more. The tricky part is throttle control. Coming off of a 600 and getting on a 1k you can't just open the throttle like you can on the smaller bike. Don't get me wrong... I like my 600. But my point was that saying a 1000 is pointless for track is not true.

1000's on the street are OK sometimes too... but 1st gear is usually so tall that you're goin' 40mph by the time you get the clutch all the way out lol. My next street bike will be a 1000 but not a supersport. (Unless it's an RC51)

I sold my zx6r and now ride an 08 r1 and I am more confident and can ride/corner faster on the r1. 600s and 1000s are both superb and to say one is better than the other is stupid because it completely depends on the rider. I don't find the r1 intimidating despite its blistering power (especially after the decat and ecu flash), actually I find the chassis and overall feel of the bike gives me far more confidence than the previous bikes Iv owned which were 600s. What I'm saying is there's much more to a bike than its engine size.
