Accessory

Good day to all, just new in big bike. I just want to ask if what bulb or led light model/brand for headlight is good for my zx6r 636 2016 and no need for fuse or any upgrade just plug and play light. I want it to give me enough lwhite light at night without distracting other motorist. Thank you in advance.

If you are concerned with distracting other motorists, leave what you have alone. The projector lens headlight on your bike is quite effective at throwing light where you need it. If you want to upgrade the lighting BK Moto and a number of other companies offer kits to replace the projectors as a set, with matching bulbs appropriate to that projector.

Plug and play, drop in replacement bulbs..... you would be best off staying with a Halogen bulb as you have projectors designed for Halogen filament bulbs. The current low beam is drawing around 55W. You may be able to find one that draws more.... more Watts, more light (and more heat). The area within the bulb which produces the light (filament) is very small, and is located in 3 dimensions EXACTLY within the bulb.

Other designs, HID or LED, do not have the light produced in the same volume of space as the Halogen.... this will lead to a change in focus and a change in pattern for where the light goes when it leaves the projector.

A HID will more or less work, and will produce a lot more light than the Halogen, but it will produce more scatter, and it will place a greater demand on your electrical system. Tread lightly.

Tnx guyz, ill stick to halogen. Plug and play only, no problem on bike registration renewal.

For the record, I "upgraded" to these, arguably the top of the line in Philips' halogens, and saw no worthy improvement over the stock ones.

OP you may be able to find a bulb to fit the sockets of your model as high as 100W.

Nearly double the power, should nearly double the light output. Compared to a HID, which will make almost 3 times as much light as the Halogen, it may not seem like a lot. But it is within the capability of the bike to support that load. If you go from 55W to 65W, you probably won't see any difference at all.

Any of the 'high performance' Halogen bulbs will burn out much sooner than the 'standard' Halogens will. The brightest candles burn out first....
